Land Clearing
Full-scale removal of trees, stumps, brush, and debris. Site left flat, open, and ready for its next use — farming, building, or recreation.
View ServiceBelow-Grade Removal
Leftover stumps cause problems — mowing hazards, regrowth, pest habitat, and buried rot that undermines structures and drainage. We grind them out, flush to grade or below, and leave nothing behind but clean fill.
What We Do
Stump grinding is the most effective way to eliminate a stump completely without digging up the entire root system. We bring in a commercial-grade stump grinder and work the stump down to 6–12 inches below grade, turning it into a pile of wood chips. The chips can be backfilled into the void, spread as mulch, or removed entirely — your call.
We handle stumps of any size and in tight access situations — fence lines, near structures, and along driveways. Our equipment fits where larger machinery can't, which means we can clean up stumps that have been left behind by previous crews who didn't have the right tools for the job.
Stump grinding also pairs naturally with our land clearing and forestry mulching work. If a site has been cleared but stumps remain, or if you had trees removed by an arborist who left the stumps behind, we come in and finish the job. The result is a flat, safe, and mowable surface with no buried wood left to rot, shift, or attract carpenter ants and termites.
For agricultural parcels throughout Defiance, Williams, and Fulton counties, stump removal is often the final step before a reclaimed field can run a planter or combine without risk of equipment damage.
What You Get
Grinding to 6–12 Inches Below Grade
Stump and lateral roots ground well below the surface — deep enough that mowing, seeding, and construction can proceed without any interference.
Any Size Stump
Small ornamental stumps to large hardwood oaks — diameter doesn't limit us. We bring the right machine for the job.
Chip Backfill or Removal
Wood chips backfilled into the void and raked level, spread on site as mulch, or hauled away — your choice based on project needs.
Tight Access Locations
Stumps near fences, foundations, driveways, and utility lines handled safely. We assess clearances before mobilizing equipment.
Site Left Clean
No piles of wood debris left behind. Area is raked and left ready for seed, sod, gravel, or whatever finish you have planned.
Who It's For
Stump grinding solves the problems left behind by tree removal, storm damage, and land clearing jobs. Here are the most common situations we handle.
Arborist removed the tree but left the stump? We come in and finish the job. Common on residential lots, farm driveways, and commercial properties across NW Ohio and SE Michigan.
Old stumps ruining your mowing pattern, killing your lawn, or just sitting there as an eyesore? We eliminate them and restore a flat, clean surface you can seed or sod immediately.
Stumps in a future build zone ground below grade before grading or foundation work begins. No buried wood means no decay voids, no settling problems, and no pest access points under a structure.
Stumps remaining in reclaimed crop ground are an equipment hazard. We grind them flush so planters, combines, and tillage equipment can run the field safely and efficiently.
The Process
Send us photos or give us a count of stumps, approximate diameters, and access notes. We provide a flat-rate quote — no hourly surprises once the grinder is running.
We mobilize the right grinder for the job and work each stump to 6–12 inches below grade. Lateral surface roots are addressed at the same time so there's no regrowth or visible root structure remaining.
Chips backfilled, raked level, and site left clean. If you want the chips removed, we haul them. Either way, the area is ready for whatever comes next the same day.
